Subaru XV 2.0i-S ES CVT Review

Subaru XV 2.0i-S ES CVT Review

This past week I had to travel to Thohoyandou, Venda, Limpopo to work on one of the biggest events in South Africa. The Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival which takes place at Royal Gardens, Nandoni Dam in Thohoyandou every year during Heritage Month. The venue is approximately 5 hours away so when traveling there comfort is a major must. Thanks to my new friends at Subaru, I was able to take this journey in  the SUBARU XV 2.0i-S ES CVT.

The absolute  perfect SUV for this jam packed weekend because moving around the different venues in Venda has always been quite challenging but  thanks to the Subaru X-MODE feature getting around was easier than before. X-MODE (which happens to be my favourite feature) helps give the driver reliable control of the vehicle with just a push of the button easily located near the gears. The technology of X-MODE takes command of the engine, transmission, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, brakes and other components to safely navigate through challenging roads and varying terrain. When you activate X-MODE, Hill descent control automatically helps maintain a constant speed when the SUBARU XV is traveling downhill. A super cool thing to experience. Driving around Venda was a breeze thanks to the X-Mode.

As much as I loved driving off road with the SUBARU XV, I also enjoyed driving it on tar roads. I strongly feel if most cars had the some of the epic features the SUBARU XV boasts, we’d have far less accidents on our roads. It’s a capable SUV with smooth mobility and outstanding stability around turns with perfect responsive steering.

Some of the beautiful features of the SUV that I loved:  The stunning interior. Front seats have stylish orange stitching and offer great support and comfort. Keyless Access and Push Button Start. Electronic Park Brake, Aluminum Pedals, Cruise Control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Multifunction Display  which is quite easy to operate, SATNAV with TomTom Mapping, Reversing Camera that is actually spot on in terms of accuracy.

Another additional feature which I think all drivers would appreciate is EYESIGHT. Eyesight monitors traffic movement, optimizes cruise control, and warns you if you sway outside your lane. The Pre Collision Braking feature came in handy when I was tested during traffic and I applied full braking force which helped me to avoid an impact. The Eyesight system is a set of dual colour cameras which are placed near the rearview mirror. They scan for unanticipated dangers. Now tell me you don’t think this SUV is all kinds of EPIC.

The brand new, the SUBARU XV 2.0i-S ES CVT retails for R445,000. With everything that it has to offer it is a bargain buy! For more info on this amazing SUV visit: https://www.subaru.co.za/
